Fat Belly Plopper — Smoke Shad

A fat-bodied topwater built to churn a wake and leave a bubble trail behind it. Cast it out, reel it steady, and let the tail do the work — the bite usually comes when you don't change a thing.

Best early and late, on calm mornings, over grass flats and around laydowns. On topwater, the sound and the wake matter far more than the paint; color mostly decides how the bait reads as a silhouette against the sky.

When to throw Smoke Shad: the natural one. A subdued shad finish for clear water and bass that are actively chasing bait on the surface — summer mornings and fall shad activity.
